Dear Sir/s, 06-06-98

RE: WILDLIFE DOGSBODY

Since c.v.'s are boring, and letters of application numerous. I am taking a chance and
hoping you will read through this before putting it in the waste bin? C.V can be
supplied, (but it is 12 pages long, with certificates and letters).

YOU MIGHT, and I am holding thumbs as I write this; have heard of? someone who is in
need, a person of my "talents". I say this with respect, as I am very young, have learnt the
hard way, and desperately in need of a job. Willing to learn. Teach.? Train staff, drive
trucks, or do whatever I have to, to suit prospective employers.

I am single, 25 (Sagittarius - the adventurer) have travelled/worked from Katima Mulilo,
Zambia, Botswana, Abidjan, and a lot of ZA. (Which does not preclude the fact that I
have a girlfriend, who is a brilliant legal secretary, and a "Wilderness Trails" expert)

I have in the course of my chequered career, worked at many of the fields of "game". Run
my own Safari Company, hitched from reserve to farm, worked with undercover police in
Namibia, ( where I spent many years) and photographic safaris in the remotest areas.
Even been head ranger twice.

Anti-poaching is my chief concern, but my experience in Ranging and Guiding, field
research, "bush-chef", ( including kosher cooking for Jewish clients), hunting, Wild
life protection, Veld management and making tourists happy. Staff training, game
capture, horsemanship, lodge management, and fly fishing, is documented in my c.v.
Likewise the many letters of recommendation. As a "team person", I was class
captain, deputy head boy, rugby captain, house captain, and out-door club captain.

My mentor, was for many years, even whilst I was at school, (and later) DR. LOU
SCHEEPERS. CHIEF BIOLOGIST CAPRIVI STRIP.KATIMA MULILO. NAMIBIA.
who taught me all that he could, which in practise, was somewhat difficult, given that his
methods and ideas, where/are years ahead of most commercial reserves. Had I listened to
him, I would have taken "recognised " course at Windhoek University. However, since I

was eager to learn more in practise, and eventually found myself assisting the police in
Namibia, ** Wild Life Protection Division. I missed out on the opportunity.

On the negative side, I have always been "too young", and too impatient to take advantage
of the tertiary education my parents offered me. (also the reason above) I thought that
hands on would stand, me in better stead? mistakenly. However, since life has been my
university, the wonderful people met, (and worked with) has been the most enjoyable, and
at times frightening, experience that many men of my age could have wished for.

My interests and hobbies, are eclectic. I am totally bilingual, with smatterings of Xhosa
and Zulu and even Hebrew thrown in. Since I was based in Namibia for such a long time, I
found that after a few weeks, was perfectly able to understand the rudiments of the
language.

My passport and drivers licence are "clean" and up-to-date.

In anticipation, if you think I might fit in?

Best Regards.

BARTON YOUNG
